Cancer workshops and wellbeing events funded
Our charity is funding additional wellbeing support for cancer patients in Croydon, to help enhance their physical and emotional health.
We recently secured a £2,500 donation from Servier Laboratories Ltd to fund a programme of workshops and wellbeing events, including yoga and cooking classes for Macmillan Croydon University Hospital.
A cooking workshop will take place in autumn for men living with prostate cancer. More than just learning new cooking skills; attendees will gain 'kitchen confidence', discover nutritious and affordable meal ideas, and share their food together, creating valuable connections.
Estelle Le Galliot, Macmillan Centre & Personalised Care Manager, explains that the previously held cooking workshops provided a space for "comfort, support and sharing experiences and advice as well as education and self-care".
The upcoming yoga classes will give people time to reflect, find peace, quiet and a calm space to focus on themselves.
We are incredibly proud to help develop programmes that enhance the lives of people living with cancer in Croydon and are grateful to Servier Laboratories Ltd and Macmillan Croydon University Hospital for making this possible.
