Charity Chair to run Windermere Marathon to support dementia patients

We are delighted that our Charity Chair and is taking on his second running challenge for our charity later this month. Jamal Butt, a Non Executive Director at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust, is set to run his first ever marathon in Windermere, the Lake District, on 18 May to raise sponsorship for an exciting new project to support dementia patients at Croydon University Hospital.

Jamal has already raised over £1,300 to help fund a new outdoors dementia-friendly area within the Hospital’s Acute Care for the Elderly Unit. This project will transform an unused space into a green courtyard full of sensory plants, comfy seats and tactile sculptures. Jamal’s marathon will finish at Brathay Hall with stunning views over England's largest lake.
