Charity project supports ICORS staff wellbeing
Staff working across Integrated Community, Older People, Rehabilitation and Specialist Services (ICORS) are benefiting from a brand new kitchen and wellbeing space thanks to funding from Croydon Health Charity. Funding from the Howell Assessment Unit’s dedicated charity fund has enabled the transformation of an unused area on the first floor of the Woodcroft Wing at Croydon University Hospital into a modern kitchen for staff.
The £11,000 project, provides around 40 colleagues from teams including Neurology and Rheumatology with a welcoming space to prepare meals and drinks, take a break and recharge during busy shifts. The new facility has been fitted with bright kitchen units, cupboards, a sink, work surfaces and a fridge by the Trust's Estates Team, creating a practical and comfortable environment for staff.
Louise Wood, General Manager for ICORS, oversaw the project and welcomed the positive impact it is having on staff wellbeing. The project is a great example of how charitable funding can make a real difference to the experience of staff across the Trust. By embracing staff wellbeing, the charity is helping to create better working environments that support colleagues to deliver the best possible care for patients. Thank you to everyone whose donations continue to support projects like this and improve facilities for our staff and patients.
